It could allow better control of where you place the grenades when setting ambushes. All you have to do is cut a tiny hole in a tennis ball.Second you cut matches head off. Third you can either use gasoline(VERY DANGEROUS) or the safer gunpowder. Then when thats done you just throw it as hard as you can so then the matches will rub against the inside of the tennis ball abd light the gun powder and EXPLODE.
PS. You need old fashion matchs unless you place a napkin in the hole and light that(I SUGGEST IF YOU DO THE NAPIKIN USE GASOLINE TO AMKE IT A COCKTAIL)

That would be just like a SLAM in HL2 CTF.
