Server register

well in the past few weeks i've been kinda paronoid about, "Am i actually talking to Fluffy Kitty or is it an imposter?" So i check the Steam Id's of the players i'm playing with. But, thats an incovienice. so i came up with this:

you say register_name in chat, and the server asks "Are you sure you want to register <your nickname>?" then you say yes, and the server matches your name with your steam id. Next, if someone ELSE comes on with your name, the server will give them a warning such as "This name has been registered bya seperate user. Please change your name within 1 minute." Then, if they don't change, they get kicked. Repeat offenders are muted, perhaps banned.

Also: One registered username per Steam ID. Period.

What if your name will already be taken. When I was younger I would go and register a name from somebody else on purpose I won't do that now but some people might.

well then that name will be taken, but any other one you had would be gone. For example, if you registered Violated before Vio did, he could register your name. Then you would come to an agreement where you both unregister the names and switch. Problem solved
