Get rid of the disconnect between maps?

The server disconnects people or has a long wait time between maps. This causes many people to leave. Even when 4 of 6 people voted for a specific map, only I show up in the end. If it is possible to reduce the wait time in between maps, I think more people will stay on the server.

Assuming those people do not already have the server bookmarked.

There is nothing we can do about this. It changes maps as fast as it can. IF they are new people the get disconnected anyway to download the next map.

The mod does not do ANY loading between maps. All mod data is initialized when the server starts.

Yes, the mod itself is not to blame for the reconnect. While it'll be a nice feature, it is Steam's fault, not DeadM. Everytime you connect to a server, the CS client talks to the server and requests the current map, and checks for the map and then downloads it if it doesn't find that map. If the client were not to do that, you would play on the same map forever! Or at least, until you disconnect/reconnect. Therefore, the server kicks everyone off, they reconnect, and the process restarts.

To avoid having to download the map everytime you connect, you could just download the map pack and bam! Every map deadm plays on right on your computer (you still have to have the loading box though, no download needed)

ive had that happen to me a few times where im inbetween maps and the bar just dosent want to move so it takes a dissconnect and a reconnect to actually get in to the server
