Could not connect to steam network

I can no longer login to my steam account. when i enter my password and click login i get the following error:

Could not connect to the Steam network.
This could be due to a problem with your internet connection or, with the
Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info.

Check if your cables are connected good. I sometimes have the opposite, my msn, internet explorer, limewire, they wont connect but steam and other games will. If I then reconnect my cables it works again. Or just brows at the steam forums, maybe they know some reasons for it.

Try relogging in by going into account and select: "Login as different User" and re-enter your user name and password. My account sometimes "forgets" how to talk to steam and I have to relogin.

it just started to work literally 30 seconds ago for no reason.
