A source question

Postby Skeetles » Mon Sep 12, 2005 6:16 am

Is it possible to move HL2 files directly into CSS? I really want a bazooka in my server. Do clients have to download the HL2 models into their cstrike folder or can they be taken from the HL2 gcf? I guess this is more of a question for people who know about the source engine, C++ and where all the files are.

I think your gonna need some sort of plugin to do this or someone to code it for you . :-k Its not that easy just paste a model in and thats it ,
saying that if you had cs 1.6 you could get a bazooka amxx has a plugin for that. :o

I know I have to code something, I was wondering if I could edit the weapon.cpp for an HL2 weapon and make it a plugin for CSS.

I can see I am going to need a bit more help then I could probably get on forums, anyone here with a little source coding experience feel like inspiring/helping a young nooblet who is a coder at heart?

Maybe Sir Fluffy Kitty would not mind helping, seeing as he has already mastered it for CS1.6. I have a server to put it on and I think it would be vvveeerrrrryyyyy fun.

Well... not only weapons, in fact that wasnt the main idea. Player glowing or something of that nature, instead of a hook maybe adding thrusters to players for low grav play, sounds, and somewhat edited CS weapons that could be applied to players by admins or through some other means.

Maybe some random things like monsters or lights as well.

I know, I am thinking now I should just make a mini-mod, something like CSS:X, although some might confuse that for CSS on the Xbox.
