I also reinstalled it and it didnt work. So i uninstalled and and then reinstalled it and it still doesnt work. I tried a driver update for the video card but that didnt work either. Other than Steam my video card works great for other games and apps. Got any suggestions? I have an Intel 3D Extreme Graphics 64 Mb DDR AGP (onboard). Should i try another video card?

Normally those issues are cause by vid card driver problems. Since you have installed the latest drivers that leaves you with few options. I check the steam forums http://www.steampowered.com no one else seemed to report the issue with the intel 3d extreame. You might try a post there to see if anyone else has had the issue and found a fix.

I figured out a way to fix my problem with the video card. Reformatting my computer did the trick.
