Game not loading.

Heres a good one for you.

When i start counter-strike via hl.exe, clicking on Deadm on my favorites, or selecting it on my games list in steam, my moniter clicks as the resolution adjusts, i briefly see the CS background, then the moniter goes black, clicks again, and goes back to my desktop.

Any ideas? If i dont get a response in a few hours ill just reinstall, no worries

Interestingly I'm having the same problem. I'm in the process of reinstalling, but that's taking for ever. I will tell you how it goes.

Well i just fixed it.. wierd way.

Just went into C:\Valve\Steam Apps\my email\

deleted the "Counter-Strike" folder.

Re-installed map pack and everythings running fine.

Hahaha..... just kidding =/

It worked fine before i installed the map pack, after i installed it eveything went to heck and i have the exact same problem.

It is caused by Cheating Death. If you do not run CD then it should work fine. My guess is with the latest client update they now check if a program in trying to load itself into CS.

yah yah, same thing happend to me, CD is broken and you cant load games with it open, but when i did try loading the server (not knowing that CD wasnt running) it worked and all, but it says that im banned..........WHAT!?!?!
