[SOLVED]Precaching Resources Freeze

Postby lnx[art] » Sat Apr 14, 2007 1:01 pm

Whenever I load a server (including my own) The loading works as normal until i get to the part where it says "Precaching resources...". Then it slows down and eventually freezes. Trust me its not that im impatient, i've left it and gone and watched a few hours of t.v., came back and had it still stuck there. If anyone has had this problem or has any idea why it might occur, please post! I can't play counter-strike :(. I have to restart or leave it to go too screen saver before i can hit ctrl-alt-delete and end process(it says not repsonding in case that helps).

btw its not my 'net connection or i wouldn't be posting :P

When steam downloads its updates, they do not always install properly. This can cause some very odd behavior. Sometime rebooting fixes the issue, other times you have to reinstall.

!!!!!! :( !!!!!!!!!!

its happened again.

It freezes in the same spot.. Is there a way for me to manually install steam updates? Perhaps it would fix the problem...

EDIT: I know i doublee posted, it just doesn't seem right to put the two topics in the same post.
