Remote Control Helicopter (Control)

Postby FluffyKitty.deadm » Wed Sep 08, 2004 8:51 am

This thread is for discussions specifically on how the remote controlled helicopter will be controlled. (What keys will be pressed and the response of the helicopter to controls).

My initial thoughts on this are:

The helicopter will be activated by selecting knife. Once selected the player's view will change to that of the camera in the copter. The following Counter-Strike actions would affect the copter:

- Forward - Moves the helicopter forward

- Backward - Moves the helicopter backwards

- Strafe Left - Moves the helicopter left (no rotation)

- Strafe Right - Moves the helicopter right (no rotation)

- The Mouse - Rotates the helicopter and moves it up and down

- Primary Fire - Activates the weapon (if any)

If the players switches from the helicopter view the helicopter will stop its movement and hover.

First I thought of heatseeking, but you keep saying: NO. So if you really think the remote control option is better and you think its possible (I even think its cooler), I totally agree with your keys.

I think theres not really a discussion about the controls unless someone thinks of a new feature or whatever.

Sure but they use secondary fire to operate. That would mean the chopper could only have 1 weapon type then.

OMG

It went like... kablam :P

How about nitro oxide for in the helicopter... So it will make the engine burn quicker and the helicopter gets a boost... :P

Isnt it possible to bind it to another key (only for the heli)?

Yes but I want to keep it as simple as possible and use keys people already have setup is CS. To have special keys bound just makes it more confusing for people to use. They have a hard enough time right now figuring how to get online help up.

You deleted my post!....

So.. no nitrous oxide?? :P

Well... the only 2 fire buttons are the 2 mouse buttons... right? So there can only be 2 weapons, unless you can buy more.

Added By Fluffy:
No maks you posted the nitros twice, I only removed the second one.

Added By Maks:
Wow... he edited my post :P. Oh.. ok :).. So.. will there be any?? :D

Well, that sounds clear.

So we better dont go to far by thinking of the controls...
