Counter-Strike 2

Postby Le Wolf » Fri Jul 16, 2004 10:19 am

Counter-Strike 2 will come out someday with his super friendly computer requirement! And many other games come out!

The question is : What will happen to DEADM? (server/community)

Only Cal will be able to play with his computer of death? maybe
Maks and Arch have memory problems? yeah
.....? i dont know......

Me , I will probably stay at Cs 1.6....

what about you?

I'll absolutely gonna buy CS2, but if deadm stays 1.6 (or 1.7) I will also stay playing CS1

i cant wait for the PCI Express to come out ( though its exlusive for Alienware at the moment ) but it would technically give you the equivalency of about 350MB video card.

for those that don't know what PCI Express is it takes 2 video cards and splits the screen so the top half uses one video card and the bottom uses the other video card and if you have two 256mb graphics cards it has a 60% incress in video performance so it would have about the power of a 350mb card.

great innovation in my opinion

yep, it does cost more but if you think about it graphics cards in my opinion will one day not be worth upgrading, cause i think graphics will only get soo good untill you wont need another higher graphics card. I think when it hits 1gb video cards thats all anyone would need, RAM i think when it hits 5gb or so anything more will be overkill same with a processor when it get to about 10ghz..

look at doom 3 which will run perfect on a 256mb card. i just think computer technology will hit a point were doing anything more will just be overkill.

sure games wil evolve greatly with more detail, dynamic lighting, particals, sprites, textures, etc... but eventually games won't be able to get much better looking, just maybe more vast maps and be able to view more model's / particals / etc.. on the screen.

/\ Just my opinion.

I won't play cs2 unless one of my brothers buy it (which they probably will) but I'll stick with plain cs until deadman server goes to cs2.

I'm definately sticking with the CS 1.6. What good is change when so many of us already have so much fun with 1.6 on the deadman server!!! 8)
Unless of course the server begins using CS2 :-/... then what choice am I left with...
I'm lucky enough to have an OC3 internet connection up/downstream (155megabit/sec).
Too bad my computer isn't fast enough to get more than 5 megabytes/sec out of it...
