Attempt to HIJACK Steam Passwords

Postby FluffyKitty.deadm » Sun Apr 27, 2008 5:05 am

A user calling themselves, "Validation" using a steam logo as their icon joined the "Dead Man Standing" friends group and was sending the following message:
Validation :This is an automated message generated by Steam account administration to help us verify the validity of your Steam account ownership. Please respond with your account name, password, and
e-mail address which is registered to this account in the following format: [Account]/[Password]/[E-mail]. Failure to comply with this request will result in the immediate
suspension of your account until further notice.

This is of course a scam. They are just trying to steal your Steam account. I wanted to post here to make sure no one fell for it.

I like how they need to ask for the account and password of the account that they know and can suspend.
