Well the core 2 DUO is about the best processor on the market right now. In a laptop it will reduce battery life though (tends to be a power hog). The GeForce GO is nice nice vid for a laptop, but not the best for games.

It all depends on what you need the computer for:
- Laptops are great for school and travel (word processing etc). But poor for playing games.

- Desktops are great for playing games, but are of course less portable.

If you are already in the $3300+ range, I would consider getting a cheap laptop (around $800-$1000), and a mid range desktop with a core 2 duo for the games (around $2200-$2400).

You will prob be happier with the end result.

well it is a laptop a bit for travel becuase i have 2 houses and i go to the other 1 for the weekend but yes it is mostly for gameing but like i said the price isnt too much of a issue with it but if its the processor your saying is sucking up all of the power in it the only other possibilitys would be in this laptop would be:
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7400 (2.16GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7600 (2.33GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7600G (2.33GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)

unless if i were to go with a alienware laptop which i could have the possibilities of:
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML34 1.8GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML37 2.0GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML40 2.2GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML44 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache

but then id have to change my whole perspective of which laptop to get, but ive heard that the alienware 1's arent very good at functioning too well, but thats all on someone elses preference, but if i would go with the alienware 1 id go with this:
http://www.alienware.com/product_detail ... KU-DEFAULT

but idk what to get thats why i ask you which 1 to get because if its the processor that uses a lot of power to run anything then wouldnt it be just as easy to plug it in when im useing it becuase when you charge anything you cant be constantly chargeing the battery and still it will wear down the battery even withought useing it, but i have a friend that has a dell laptop and hes had it for 6 years and still uses it all he has to do is upgrade it with its important components so that is why i like dell they are very reliable but i still cant trust gateway..... so what do you say?

That is basically the issue you face.

The Core 2 Duo is best for gaming. Much Much better than the Turion. But that great processing power comes at the cost of drawing a lot of current.

The Turion is a very nice laptop processor because it draws a small amount of current. But it does not have the punch you need for playing games.

That said the $3350 laptop with the Core 2 Duo is about as good as you can do for a gaming laptop.
